Built by one developer tired of PDFs going back and forth

I kept hearing the same story from friends working in event production: every site plan started as a hand-drawn sketch, got redrawn in a generic design tool, then spent weeks bouncing around email as a flat PDF — with no reliable way to tell if everyone was even looking at the latest version.

As a developer, that looked like a solvable problem. Real-time collaboration and satellite mapping are solved technology — they just weren’t built for the way event teams actually plan a site. So I built Mapzio: a place to draw a site plan directly over real satellite imagery or a venue floor plan, with your whole team editing the same document at once.

It’s still a small, focused product. I’d rather ship something that solves the site-planning problem well than bolt on everything else an event platform could do.
